Tristen Hennigs

I have been practising yoga intensively for twenty years. Having spent my late teens and early twenties as an assistant teacher in my mother's yoga and dance studio in Ohio, I went on to further my own yoga practice by studying the schools of Iyengar, Kashmir and Sivananda. I studied Astanga Vinyasa with Derek Ireland in Crete, Gingi Lee in London and John Scott in London and Plymouth. I studied Jivamukti Yoga in New York with David Life and Sharon Gannon as well as attended numerous workshops under prominent yogis and yoginis.

My classes explore the classic yoga postures (asanas) as well as breath work (pranayama), while simultaneously giving students information as to why the practices are important. Based on the time of day of the class as well as the demographic of the participants, my classes can be more or less dynamic as is appropriate.

I am a qualified Vinyasa Flow, Astanga Vinyasa, Power and Yin yoga teacher. Having first started yoga for health reasons after being diagnosed with postal tanchycardica syndrome, a heart condition, I instantly felt the benefits of yoga both physically and mentally and never looked back. I think it is important to build strength and flexibility; as well as finding ease and relaxation in classes. I encourage students to approach yoga by listening to their bodies and doing what suits them best, this way the full benefits that yoga can bring to you can be found on and off the mat. My classes are designed to make you work hard and leave with a complete sense of peacefulness.

Maritsa
Maritsa

Maritsa's love of Yoga began over 15 years ago when after attending her first yoga class she was hooked! Maritsa has practiced various styles of Yoga from Hatha, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Jivamukti and Vinyasa Flow to name a few.
She fell in love with all styles and traditions, each offering something different but all focusing on alignment, injury prevention, strength, flexibility but most of all spirituality.

Maritsa's approach to teaching is that classes should be fun, challenging, dynamic and relaxing at the same time. She always aims to practice consciously with a focus towards safeguarding against injury, through encouraging correct posture and alignment.

I began my teacher train-ing in 2014 and qualified with distinction in October 2015.

Over the course of my studies I became more interested in the spiritual and philosophical side to the teaching of yoga and I try to stay true to the lineage of this ancient practice. I now teach Vinyasa Flow and Ha-tha Yoga.

Maike
Maike

Maike has practicing yoga for ten years, intensely for the last three years. It has totally transformed my life, which lead to me wanting to share it with others. I first trained and worked as a professional actress and dancer and then as a counsellor.
Training as a yoga teacher felt like a natural progression, an opportunity to integrate my previous fields of work. I love flowing sequences, exploring the momentum and impulse behind the movement and the interplay of breath. I am a believer in the benefits of yoga not only on a physical, but also psychological level. I am passionate about incorporating elements of contemplation and mindfulness work in my yoga practice.
Enabling people to have a positive relationship with themselves is my main goal.

My classes use flowing postures, pranayama, meditation and visualisation to uplift and refresh on a physical and mental level. As well as having fun with postures, it is my hope that each student will begin to unfold an inner experience and become their own teacher.
